HEPP’S Put An Egg on it Burger

Want to make the best burger for your Cinco de Mayo party, try this!  You can make your own special burger however you want for this we our turkey Tex-Mex recipe.  We also used our HEPP’S guacamole recipe to top the burger and when frying the egg over easy or sunny side up is recommended.  Delicious and fun but it is also a bit messy serve with a stack of napkins and enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey (93 percent lean)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 4 ounces pepper Jack cheese, thinly sliced
  • 4 thick slices country bread, halved
  • HEPP’S Guacamole recipe
  • 1 fried egg
  • HEPP’S Hickory Smoked sea salt

  1. Form turkey into 4 patties (4 inches each). Using thumb, make an indentation in center to prevent burgers from rounding on top. Sprinkle with chili powder; season with HEPP’S Hickory smoked sea salt and pepper. Cover and grill until an instant-read thermometer inserted in center of a burger reads 155 degrees, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Add cheese and cook another 2 minutes
  2. On a frying pan or skillet on your grill fry up the egg, over easy so yoke is still juicy.
  3.  Meanwhile, grill bread until lightly charred. Place each burger on a piece of bread; top with egg, and HEPP’S guacamole and serve.

Alternatives:  For burger seasoning a regular flake salt like HEPP’S Aussie flake, or Cyprus flake.  You can also finish with a Truffle sea salt, or the smoked salt as well.  Both go really well with the avocado and burger.

HEPP’S Ultimate Classic Margarita

Of course we could not forget the classic margarita. However with HEPP’S you can make it as original as you want. For this recipe we used HEPP’S Ghost Pepper Sea Salt to add some major heat, but salt goes hand in hand with margaritas so you can use any flavor of HEPP’S you want and still be a hit with your guests!

  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, plus 1 lime wedge
  • 1 cup ounces club soda
  • 6 ounces Casa Noble Reposado Tequila
  • 3 ounces Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • HEPP’S Habanero Sea Salt

  1. Combine lime juice, club soda, tequila and Triple Sec in a shaker with ice.
  2. Rub the rim of four 10-ounce glasses with the lime wedge and dip in HEPP’S Habanero Sea Salt.
  3. Fill the glasses with ice and top with mixture.

Alternatives: HEPP’S lemon sea salt, HEPP’S Habanero Sea Salt or HEPP’S Habanero Sugar

HEPP’S Red White and Blue Skinny Strawberry Margarita

Here it is our skinny on skinny.  We used our Black lava fine for the glass rimer, it’s such a cool salt  because of it natural black color, great for riming any drink.

  • 1 ½ cup Ice
  • 1/2 cup pureed fresh Strawberries or 1 cup frozen
  • 1 cup Casa Noble Crystal Tequila
  • 1 tbsp Triple Sec
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • ½ cup Club Soda
  • HEPP’S Black lava Sea Salt

  1. In a blender add the ice, strawberries, tequila, triple sec, lime juice.
  2. Pulse adding club soda to help it along until it is smooth.
  3. Use lime wedge to ring the glass and dip in pile of HEPP’S Black lava Sea Salt.
  4. Pour into 4 glasses garnish with a strawberry.
Alternatives:  For heat use HEPP’S Habanero sugar, or Habanero sea salt

HEPP’S Beer Margaritas

If you haven’t tried yet you should, the beer margarita.  We added HEPP’S 7- Fire Smoked Salt to add that smoky sweet taste.   Again we juiced our limes and lemon, NO store bought mixes!!  All Ingredients are natural and can be bought fresh from  your local farmers markets.  If you don’t have a juicer it is just as easy to freshly squeeze but be sure to do it over a mesh strainer to catch seeds and unwanted pulp.

  • 3 limes- juiced or squeezed
  • 3 lemons- juiced or squeezed
  • 6 ounces light beer
  • 6 ounces Casa Noble Anejo Tequila
  • Lime slices, to garnish
  • HEPP’S 7-Fire Smoked Salt

  1. Fill blender with ice. Add lemon juice, lime juice, beer and tequila and blend till slushy.
  2. Use lime wedge to wet the rim of each glass then dip in a pile of a HEPP’S 7 – Fire smoked salt.
  3. Pour into prepared glasses and garnish with a lime slice.

Alternatives: If you are not a fan of the smoked salt try HEPP’S Habanero salt for extra heat or HEPP’S lemon salt.

HEPP’S Sun Burned Margarita

IMG_0857   IMG_0855

This Margarita is the perfect combination sweet on heat.  We used all natural ingredients NO mixes allowed!  We juiced our strawberries, and limes if you don’t have a juicer you can put the strawberries in a blender with a little water and blend until smooth.  I would suggest with the limes you manually squeeze over a strainer.  By adding HEPP’S habanero sugar to the rim this drink will keep people coming back for more but be careful this sugar packs a punch.

  • 4 oz. fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 6 oz. Casa Noble Crystal Tequila
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 6 oz. club soda
  • 1 tbs. agave nectar (or to taste)
  • Splash Triple sec
  • HEPP’S Habanero Sugar for rim ( very hot!!)

  1. Add the Strawberries to the juicer or to a blender. Blend until smooth. place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl pour the puree into the strainer to remove the seeds.- if juiced this mesh is not necessary
  2. Add ingredients over ice in a shaker, shake well.
  3. Take lime wedge run over the rim of each glass and dip in pile of HEPP’S Habanero sugar until the complete rim is covered ( * option- you can cover only half or dip one side of lime in the sugar pile and place on rim for those who may want less heat or sugar. )
  4. Fill glass with ice and pour in mixture.

Alternatives- HEPP’S salt can be used instead of the sugar, if you still some hear you can use our HEPP’S habanero salt, or for a different taste an applewood smoked salt.  HEPP’S black lava is also a great salt that looks really cool – See Skinny on skinny recipe for picture.

We saved the best for last…  guacamole.  I have been told that in Mexico the true authentic guacamole is just avocado mixed with a little lime juice and salt.  This recipe is what is most commonly considered guacamole here in the states.  You can choose which you would prefer to serve or do both and have a taste test.  Either way this is a must have dish for any fiesta so you can’t go wrong!!

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced finely
  • 2 roma tomatoes, seeded and diced finely
  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped finely
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • HEPP’S Lemon sea salt and pepper to taste
  • (optional) 1/2 jalapeno, seeded and diced finely

  1. Cut avocados in half and remove pit. Scoop out flesh of avocado and coarsely chop it. Add the diced onion, tomatoes, cilantro, and garlic with a knife using strokes as if you were cutting start mixing and blending the ingredients together until you reach your desired consistency. If you like your guacamole on the spicy side add some diced jalapeno here.
  2. Add the lime juice, pepper, and HEPP’S Lemon sea salt to taste.
  3. Chill until serving. If not serving right away place saran wrap directly against the guacamole so that it does not oxidize and turn brown. Serve with tortilla chips

Alternatives:  HEPP’S garlic sea salt, Citrus cyprus flake sea salt, Applewood Smoked sea salt for a smoked flavor or for extra heat HEPP’S Habanero or Ghost pepper sea salt.

HEPP’S Pico de Gallo

It would not be a complete mexican themed party without a large bowl of fresh Pico de Gallo.  This recipe calls for fresh produce which all can easily be found at your local farmers market, you may want to double or triple this recipe if having more than a few people over it is delicious!!
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 a sweet onion
  • 1-2 jalapeños
  • cilantro
  • juice from 1 lime
  • 1-2 tsp white vinegar
  • HEPP’S lemon sea salt, oregano and black pepper to taste

  1. Finely dice the tomatoes, sweet onion and jalapeños and put them in a small bowl.
  2. Mince the cilantro and add.
  3. Then juice the lime into the bowl, add the vinegar, HEPP’S Lemon sea salt, oregano and pepper and mix lightly with a fork.

Alternatives:  HEPP’S Citrus Cyprus flake, HEPP’S applewood smoked sea salt, and for extra heat HEPP’S Habanero or HEPP’S Ghost pepper sea salt.
